This reminds me a bit of this past weekend. Jeremy and I were watching the UM game vs. FSU at Barney’s when we caught some Florida fan explaining a disputed call in the Florida-LSU game. On 4th down, Florida’s QB had fumbled, and the officials were trying to determining if it was indeed fumbled or if it was ruled an incomplete pass. This happens A LOT in football.

The play is looking more and more like a fumble. This Florida fan is saying multiple times and reassuring a fellow female Florida fan not to worry. That if it’s not an incomplete pass, things are A-OK because when you fumble on 4th down the play is dead. Jeremy and I let like 2 or 3 of these go before we looked at each other confused. Does this guy know how dumb he sounds? I began thinking someone taught him this rule of football as some sort of elaborate prank. Perhaps they were hoping to witness the payoff someday. 

Anyway, the ruling stood, it was a fumble, and LSU recovered. The look on this guy’s face was the blankest look I’ve seen in a long time. Very satisfied having witnessed this.
